Lord Haarald the Seventh is the ruler of the Haaraldiran Fiefdom. Like his Traysian forebears, Lord Haarald is a warrior at heart. Centuries of peace have not dulled the prowess of Haaraldria’s cavalry. Yet, like his wife, Haarald bears a softer side—especially for his daughter, Lailin, a child he never expected to rule. Not until the death of his young son, Haarald. Now, he quietly hopes that Lailin might one day know the fortune of a second child, as he did—for she, too, still grieves the loss of her firstborn.
