DAJEIAN

The Peoples of the Far West · Worshippers of Sound

The Dajeian peoples vary greatly from region to region, shaped as much by climate and geography as by centuries of tradition. In the frozen north, the Dajeians clothe themselves in heavy furs and thick wool to endure the brutal glacial cold, their settlements standing resilient against snow and mountain wind. Far to the south, however, the land grows humid and fertile, its coastlines filled with fishing vessels and its inland valleys rich with fruit orchards and silk worm farms.

Food and feasting also reflect the divisions of class and region. Boar and other hunted meats are commonly reserved for festivals and holy days among ordinary folk, while the warrior class may consume them freely throughout the year. Seafood, by contrast, forms the foundation of nearly every household’s diet, sustaining both coastal cities and inland settlements alike.

Among all Dajeians, language itself is regarded with profound seriousness. They believe words possess a weight and power overlooked by most other peoples, and as such they speak with remarkable care and restraint. Lies, false promises, and deliberate deceit are punished harshly within Dajeian society—a cultural principle that has helped foster efficient trade, political stability, and widespread trust throughout the Royal Dajeian Realm.

Rather than formal prayer, many Dajeians practise humming, controlled breathing, and meditative recitations intended to align the spirit with the harmony of the world. Silence itself is often considered sacred, and moments of stillness are treated with the same reverence other cultures reserve for temples or shrines.

To travel through Dajeian lands is to encounter a rare sense of serenity and order. Yet beneath that calm lies a culture of immense discipline and precision, where even a single careless word may carry consequences heavier than steel.
