The Traysians are an elegant and long-lived race of mortals, distinguished by their tall, slender forms and remarkably slow ageing. While most peoples measure life in decades, Traysians may live for as long as two and a half centuries, a gift that has granted them immense patience, wisdom, and a perspective few others can truly comprehend.

Peaceful by nature, the Traysians dwell across the westernmost region of Marcia and the easternmost territories of Albain, though these lands are not their true place of origin. Their ancestral homeland was the legendary Isle of Traysis, a civilisation said to have vanished three thousand years ago during the cataclysm known as the Sea Moon’s Rise. Though the isle itself was lost to the sea, the memory of Traysis continues to shape every aspect of Traysian culture and identity.

The Traysians are perhaps most famously associated with the majestic Pegasi, noble winged steeds shared with no other people. Sightings of Traysians soaring above sea and mountain upon pegasus-back have become the stuff of legend throughout the known world.

Their way of life is notably modest and disciplined. Sustaining themselves primarily upon nuts, berries, fruits, and other flora, the Traysians oppose the consumption of meat, believing unnecessary killing to be a corruption of the spirit. Meals are eaten in near silence, as speaking while dining is considered disrespectful both to the food itself and to the act of nourishment, which they regard as deserving quiet contemplation.

To outsiders, Traysians often appear distant, aloof, and almost otherworldly. Yet this distance is not born of arrogance so much as caution. Having witnessed the endless cycles of war and destruction that consume shorter-lived peoples, the Traysians deliberately choose solitude over conquest and reflection over ambition.

One of their most famous proverbs captures this philosophy well:
