The true origins of Shaman Jaekel are a mystery. Tales of his birth differ from village to village, and Jaekel himself has never cared to correct them. Some claim he wandered from the west beyond the seas. Others whisper he emerged from the forests of Traysia, already a man and cloaked in wisdom. A few insist he was never truly young at all.
Whatever the truth, one certainty follows him wherever he walks: spectacle and poetry seem to gather in his wake as naturally as wind follows a storm. Songs, riddles, prophecies, and half-spoken truths spill from him with unsettling ease, leaving listeners uncertain whether they have witnessed brilliance, madness, or something suspended between the two.
As Royal Shaman of the Draemere Clan, Jaekel serves as one of the foremost spiritual voices of the Faith of the Traysian Way, the ancient belief system that has long guided much of the Clay Lands. Unlike the rigid hierarchies of the Ardulai, the Traysian Way values balance, reflection, harmony with nature, and the pursuit of inner understanding. Yet these teachings now stand increasingly threatened by the expansion of the Empire’s faith and influence.
The spread of the Ardulai has placed men like Jaekel in a dangerous position. To the Empire, shamans are relics of an older age—unpredictable figures whose influence cannot easily be controlled. Yet among the people of the Clay Lands, Jaekel remains deeply revered, particularly in times of fear and uncertainty.
And uncertain times have come.
While kings speak of armies and nobles whisper of politics, Jaekel speaks instead of tides, spirits, forgotten truths, and roads that converge beneath unseen stars. Many dismiss his words as riddles. Others fear they may be prophecy.
Whatever he truly is—sage, mystic, fool, or visionary—there is no one quite like Shaman Jaekel.
