Mezeric is an ancient and nearly forgotten tongue, preserved from extinction only through the secretive devotion of the Ardulai. Within scholarly and religious circles it later became known as Scholarly Ardulaic, though even that title is rarely spoken outside the highest ranks of the order.

The language is believed to have first risen to prominence during the age of the Mernic Emprazors—the proto-emperors who ruled long before the formation of the later Mernic Empire. According to Ardulaic legend, Mezera, the Highest Lord of Men and Keeper of Souls, was taught this primordial language by a mysterious shadowed entity whose nature remains unknown. Mezera himself claimed the tongue was older than kingdoms, older than gods, and born alongside the very first breaths of time.

From this entity, Mezera was said to have gained not merely language, but mastery over souls and powers forbidden to ordinary mortals. Because of this, Mezeric came to be regarded not simply as a means of communication, but as a sacred and dangerous force—one intertwined with authority, divinity, and the unseen world itself.

For centuries, nearly every Emprazor, and later every Emperor of Mernia, claimed legitimacy through descent from Mezera’s bloodline. Few of these rulers ever spoke or understood Mezeric, yet to them the blood itself served as proof enough of divine inheritance and right to rule.

Among the Ardulai, the language remains an object of immense reverence. Yet despite this devotion, Mezeric is forbidden to the common people. Only the most zealous and prestigious Corynths are permitted access to the ancient texts sealed within the deepest vaults beneath Ardu Crest. There, hidden from the world, fragments of the language are studied in secrecy and silence.

As a result, almost nothing is truly known about Mezeric today. Its grammar, pronunciation, and full structure remain mysteries. Only scattered fragments of script survive beyond the Ardulai’s hidden archives—enigmatic symbols tied forever to whispers of forgotten power and origins too ancient for mortal understanding.
