THE EMERALD LANDS

The Rolling Green West · Lands of Harmony

The Emerald Lands are the realm of the Marcian Traysians, and are widely regarded as the greenest and most untouched lands in all of Marcia. Vast forests blanket the region from the foothills of the Saarin Mountains to the lowland valleys beyond, while rolling hills, mist-covered marshes, and ancient woodland stretch seemingly without end. To many travellers, Traysia feels less like a kingdom and more like a living sanctuary shaped by harmony between civilisation and nature.

Unlike most peoples of the Known World, the Traysians take remarkably little from the land around them. They harvest sparingly, waste little, and avoid needless destruction wherever possible. Their culture values preservation over expansion, reflection over conquest, and balance over excess. For this reason, the Emerald Lands are rarely opened freely to outsiders, as the Traysians remain deeply protective of the fragile harmony they have maintained for thousands of years.

North of Haaralia, the coastline turns pale as bone, its white shores standing in stark contrast to the dark volcanic rock formations of sa Tarocas coss Zulathen Iliirasthe Beast and Intrepid Isles—which rise sparsely from the turbulent waters of the Sea of Beasts. These isolated islands are feared by sailors and revered in Traysian lore alike, their jagged silhouettes often disappearing beneath sea mist and storm.

The Emerald Lands are also the only known home of the majestic Pegasi, creatures protected by the Traysians since ancient times. Their exclusivity has further contributed to Traysian isolation, for the people of Traysia guard both their winged companions and their homeland with quiet but unwavering devotion.

Deep within the woodland lies the mysterious Belkin Forest, home to the enigmatic Belkin people. Feared and revered in equal measure, the Belkin live according to cycles unlike those of any other race. As Belkin men age, they gradually transform into living trees, becoming rooted within the forest itself and forever joining the woodland they once walked beneath.

Thus, throughout the Emerald Lands, the boundaries between nature, spirit, and civilisation grow wonderfully—and unsettlingly—thin.
